Overview

Zvec is an open-source, in-process vector database developed and battle-tested at Alibaba, designed to be embedded directly into applications rather than run as a separate service.[61] It focuses on production-grade, low-latency similarity search with minimal operational overhead. Developers should care because it offers a simpler deployment model for RAG and recommendation workflows where an embedded vector store is preferable to a separate distributed database.
