wet (Web Extended Toolkit MCP/CLI)

Overview

wet (formerly wet-mcp) is an open-source Web Extended Toolkit that now emphasizes a CLI-first experience while still exposing an MCP server when run without subcommands.[8] It can be installed via pip and used either as a command-line tool or as an MCP server, giving AI agents structured web access and utilities. Developers should care because it standardizes web interactions—fetching, parsing, and transforming content—into a protocol AI tools already understand.
