MiniMax-H3 Ported to MLX, Bringing Video Generation to Mac Hardware
MiniMax released MiniMax-H3, a general-purpose omni-modal generative system that accepts text, images, audio, and video inputs to generate up to 15-second video clips with synchronized audio. Two days after its release, a Python package named PipeNetwork/minimax-h3-mlx has ported the model to MLX, Apple's machine learning framework, enabling it to run locally on Apple Silicon Macs. This port brings the powerful video generation capabilities to consumer hardware, bypassing the need for cloud GPU clusters. The move could democratize access to advanced multimodal AI, allowing developers to build video-generation apps directly on Macs.
