Overview

Cognee is an open-source memory platform that lets developers connect AI agents to a persistent knowledge graph so they can store and recall information across sessions.[7] It is designed as a self-hosted component with APIs and integrations suitable for plugging into agent frameworks, chat systems, or custom tools that need structured recall rather than raw vector search.[7] Developers should care because it makes building long-lived agents—like coding partners, research bots, or customer assistants—much more practical without depending on proprietary cloud memory services.[7]
